Brent's brainstorming sketches and handwritten notes
Meet Brent Terry

Storyteller. Builder. Dreamer.

A lifelong Snohomish County storyteller who believes the best stories don't just live in books — they grow from the places we call home, the people we love, and the imagination we carry with us.

Brent Terry, author
Twice Upon a Time

Where it all began

Brent's love of storytelling began in childhood, listening to his father spin made-up bedtime tales that always began with the words, "Twice upon a time…"

Those stories… filled with animals, adventure, kindness, struggle, and heart left a lasting impression. Today, they continue to shape the stories Brent writes, which are rooted in imagination, moral courage, emotional resilience, and quiet hope.

For the past three years, Brent has lived in Everett's historic Lowell neighborhood, established in 1863, once a small mill town and still rich with stories waiting to be told. He even lives in the restored Lowell Firehouse, the inspiration for Lowell the Firetruck.

That firehouse is more than a backdrop. It's a reminder that the best stories are rooted in real places, real people, and lived experiences, where imagination and everyday life intersect.
